I’m Telling The Truth (The Belt of Truth)

“I tell you the truth, whoever hears My words and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.”   John 5:24

How many times, as a child, did we say to our parents, “I’m telling you the truth!” when they questioned something we did or didn’t do. We have all used that phrase to emphasize we weren’t lying.

Jesus’ first words in the above verse are, “I tell you the truth.” He said these words in response to the Jews wanting to kill Him for saying God was His father. Jesus wanted to make sure His audience knew He wasn’t lying or making something up just to sound good. He was about to tell them something important that was the absolute truth.

The BELT OF TRUTH will give us the confidence to rely on the fact that when we speak of Jesus’ words and the salvation He brings it is the truth. No matter what happens in our spiritual battles, no matter what the devil says, truth is on our side. Just as Jesus said, “I tell you the truth,” we can preface our testimonies with those words when we are confronted about our beliefs as Christians.

Standing firm in that truth catches people offguard. When we stick by the truth, no matter what others say or do, the opponent doesn’t always know how to respond or react.

Wear the BELT OF TRUTH, cling to it, knowing the real Truth will always be there to grab onto and claim. Speak the truth of Jesus Christ and Satan will be at a loss.

APPLICATION: When you have an opportunity to testify about your faith in Jesus and His salvation stand up boldly knowing th truth will never let you down.
