The Israelites had been freed from Egypt and Pharaoh’s harsh rule. Now they’re at the Red Sea. Pharaoh’s army is bearing down on them. They have nowhere to go. They panic. The people cry to Moses out of their despair and fear. Does Moses tell them to grab their weapons and prepare to fight? It would be a losing battle. The Israelites are no match for a trained army. Instead Moses tells them to calm down, stand still, and leave it to God.
In our own spiritual battles there are times when we need to rise up and fight. However, there are also times we just need to stand firm and let God take over. This is when we rely on THE SHOES OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE. These SHOES give us stability and personal inner peace allowing us to turn the situation completely over to God.
From the Israelites’ perspective they were doomed. Moses knew better. He knew God did not bring them out of Egypt only to be destroyed a short time later. Moses comprehended that God would use this seemingly impossible situation to show His people they could rely on Him.
We need to have that strong faith in God as well. When Satan is pushing in on us from all sides we have the SHOES God has prepared for us. We don’t need to fall apart and experience despair and fear. God’s Gospel of the peace given to us through Jesus Christ is there to calm our fears. The devil wants us to give up, but we don’t have to give in to him.
Turn the situation over to God and let Him release His power and perform His miracles to fight the battle for you. The SHOES OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE is the piece of the armor which will assist you in doing that.
Just as Moses told the Israelites to calm down and stand firm, the SHOES will help us do the same thing. God showed His might and power against Pharaoh’s army for the Israelites to see. He will fight the battle for us to see if we also stand firm, don’t panic, and let Him take over.
APPLICATION: Are you facing a situation and you don’t know which way to turn? Feel the SHOES OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE on your feet and turn it over to God. Allow Him to show you what He can do when you let Him.
